Trump 's 'Project Freedom' To Rescue Vessels After Ship Attacked In Hormuz | Firstpost Live

Video Overview & Insights

US President Donald Trump has announced 'Project Freedom,' a mission to safely escort stranded ships out of the Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing Iran conflict tensions. With nearly 20,000 seafarers stuck and global trade disrupted, the operation aims to provide humanitarian relief while navigating a volatile security situation. Iran maintains control over the strait, even as diplomatic talks continue. Recent attacks and military buildup highlight the risks involved. The world now watches whether this US-led initiative can restore safe passage or trigger further escalation in one of the world’s most critical energy routes.

April 18 marks the 43rd anniversary of the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon, which killed 63 people. The attack was carried out by the group that would later become Hezbollah, financed and supported by Iran.

Cited as the deadliest attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in history. A suicide bomber drove a truck carrying 2,000 pounds of explosives into the embassy compound, detonating the device near the front of the building and causing a central section of the structure to collapse. The blast killed 63 people, including 17 Americans, and injured over a hundred others.

If you see Iran as a genuine threat aligned with Russia, China, and North Korea, and if you believe internal instability creates a window of opportunity, then military action can seem necessary rather than optional.

Where your concern has merit:
Iran's government genuinely does support militant groups, develop weapons, and coordinate with Russia and China
The internal protests were real and showed genuine anti-regime sentiment
Waiting indefinitely while adversaries consolidate power has historically been a losing strategy.

Containment and patient strategies have failed in some cases. Russia invaded Ukraine. China expanded in the South China Sea. Iran's influence grew across the Middle East. North Korea developed nuclear weapons. So why should we believe waiting works now?

Containment without enforcement is appeasement. Ukraine showed that.
Economic sanctions alone haven't stopped any of these actors.
These regimes have gotten stronger while the West debated.
Delay has costs—it may be more expensive to act later than now.

The strike on Iran achieved America's goals:
Regime collapsed.
Halted nuclear program.
Weakened military.
Deterrence signal to China/Russia/NK.

Iran and Lebanon are brothers in Arms.
The attack on the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon occurred on October 23, 1983, when a suicide bomber drove a truck filled with explosives into a military compound in Beirut, killing 241 U.S. service members. This devastating strike took place just six months after the bombing of the U.S. Embassy and happened nearly simultaneously with a second blast that killed 58 French paratroopers nearby. The Islamic Jihad Organization, which later became known as Hezbollah and was supported by Iran.

The Iranian Public's Sentiment: A vast majority (at least 80%) of Iranians are angry with current ceasefires. Many Iranians believe the regime is a "cancer" that needs to be removed entirely.

Russia invading Ukraine is causing oil and gas price hikes:

Crude Oil: Brent crude is currently trading around $100 to $130 per barrel.

Natural Gas: In Europe, gas prices have risen by roughly 60% since the invasion of Ukraine, currently hovering around €50 per MWh.

This "energy war" has made 2026 one of the most volatile years for global inflation.

In 2026, Ukraine shifted its strategy from just defending territory to systematically dismantling Russia’s energy economy.

Refinery Strikes: Ukrainian long-range drones have successfully hit several of Russia’s largest refineries (including Kirishi and Saratov). This has knocked out an estimated 40% of Russia's oil refining capacity.

Port Disruptions: Strategic strikes on Baltic and Black Sea ports (like Ust-Luga) have forced Russia to cut its oil exports by millions of barrels per day.

Market Panic: Even when oil is physically available, the risk of tankers being struck in the Black Sea has sent insurance premiums through the roof, adding a "war tax" to every barrel.

Americans just need to stay away from Iranian waters and close to Oman coast. Watch out for sea mines. Project Freedom is disguise as escorting ships. But it is about freeing Iranians if the IRGC fire on the ships. Brilliant reverse psychology to restart the conflict.

Oh, please, Donald Trump doesn’t know the meaning of the word “humanitarian.” It was always his intent to restart his illegal, unprovoked war of aggression/choice against Iran 🇮🇷 on behalf of parasitic Israel 🇮🇱. Miriam Adelson demands her money’s worth.
