The whole 'line of ships headed to the US is such a misnomer..

Are there tankers on the way? Yes, near 100. Near 60 of them are the massive supertankers. The problem, though is multiple-fold:

1) the US is already shopping near maximum amounts of Oil & Gas overseas. There is only enough infrastructure.. pipelines, ship-filling infrastructure at ports... to add maybe 500,000 barrels per day. The amount being shorted from Hormuz is 13 million barrels a day. 500k ain't going to do jack shit to offset the shortage, and won't mean that much more profit for US based oil companies than they are already making.

Since the start of the Iran War two months ago, US oil companies havent put a single fucking penny into building more infrastructure to get more oil to port, and to load ships faster. There is quite simply a gard limit as to how much extra oil the US can ship out - and it ain't filling 100 tankers.

2) the 'supertankers' that are on their way are so large that not every port can service them... the waters at many ports just aren't deep enough. They have to go to specific ports to be filled. This is going to create a massive lineup of vessels waiting to be filled.

The question becomes, with the capability to only bump up oil sales by 500k barrels per day.... how long will these ships take to fill?

3) This hard limit means the tankers only can be filled so fast. One of the supertankers takes nearly 2 days to be filled. Theres over 60 of them on their way. They will be lined up off shore for weeks and weeks. Oil & Gas experts, who are familiar with the ports in question, say the Iran War could potentially be over by the time some of them get filled and begin to return.

One expert has stated that this line of ships is being hailed as some kind of win for the US.... when it should be a giant red flag for the crumbling oil supply chain, that they are all coming to the US for supply.... the US can't supply everyone. This is a massive warning sign.

People seem to think that the US isnt going to be hit by a global oil crisis because it produces alot of it's own oil... but it's part of that supply network, and countries on southeastern Asia are already declaring states of emergency over lack of fuel. This WILL eventually hit the West also...
