Cynics will say we heard something similar last year. But while the 2023 Mercedes was an evolutionary car, this is something closer to revolution with fundamental changes made to the architecture of the car.
Team principal Toto Wolff describes it as “a complete relaunch” with significant changes not only aerodynamically but also under the bodywork.
Just realised it doesnt have the Lauda red star. That's a shame.
And it needs to be. Mercedes has won just one grand prix over the past two years and despite finishing second in the constructors’ championship last year it only very occasionally threatened Red Bull.

Mercedes didn't have the car to win the past few years. It kinda makes sense they would focus more on not having an overly slow pitstop vs really fast pit stops. I mean, they went from dominating the sport to not having a car to win. In both of those situations it kinda makes sense to focus on not having overly slow pit stops, but not being the fastest. In one situation they're already way out in front and only need to not make a big mistake while the other they're not competeing for wins and need to spend money elsewhere. In one situation trying to be too fast and making mistakes might lose them a race while in the other a faster pitstop still isn't going to win them a race; might get them out front, only to be passed later on.

@chrisbarker5336I work on the Merc front brake duct system and from the 2022>2023 season there were hardly any changes, this year they're very different. Hopefully it's not the only thing they're redesigning
